Job summary

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer intern to support the Quality Department across supplier, test, manufacturing, sales floor, control test, and service/warranty processes.

The role involves working with staff in a professional, cooperative manner and contributing to continuous quality improvements. Responsibilities include reviewing quality data, assisting with BIQ development on production lines, audits, and cross‑functional problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or a related field for entire duration of internship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, professional working relationship with all customers.
• Responsible for supporting Quality Department Staff.
• Review and develop quality documentation, data, and reports
• Assist in development of BIQ (built in quality) to the Production lines
• Actively participate in group and team meetings.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to correct and prevent quality issues.
• Assist in problem solving and implementing solutions to quality related problems.
• Assist staff with the disposition of defective material.
• Participate in quality audits internally and externally.
• Report and respond to quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner.
• Work inter-functionally with Quality and Manufacturing to resolve quality related issues.
• Must exhibit the ability to proactively complete assigned tasks.
• Travel to Riceville occasionally as required.
• Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures
