Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality improvements across infotainment, audio, cluster, and connectivity systems. You will own key metrics, unify issue tracking from multiple sources, and partner with software, firmware, and cloud teams to rapidly diagnose and resolve customer-impacting issues.

You’ll apply Python and SQL to analyze data from DTC logs, telematics, mobile apps, and cloud services, translating findings into technical discussions and action plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years coding experience (Python, C, C++, or equivalent).
• 2+ years with engineering tools and defect tracking systems (JIRA, IVS, VADR).
• 2+ years with service tools/applications (FDRS, PTS, workshop manuals).
• 2+ years with quality methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
• 2+ years collaborating across teams, including with upper management.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve core quality metrics (Repairs per 1000, CPU, CPR, E2E velocity).
• Lead a unified quality agenda across multiple data sources.
• Conduct root-cause and Pareto analyses for infotainment, audio, cluster, and connectivity issues.
• Use Python/SQL to pull and correlate data across DTC logs, telematics, mobile app, and cloud data.
• Translate findings into technical conversations with software/firmware/cloud teams.
• Represent the quality function in internal quality forums and provide status updates.
• Drive timely resolution of priority items and assemble cross-functional support.
• Identify process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve escalation handling.
• Maintain tracking in JIRA/QAI/IRIS and submit monthly reports.
