Operations Quality Engineer II

The Operations Quality Engineer II position manages the execution of Quality Assurance for daily production operations as well as continuous improvement activities for the Electric Power System Business Unit in Rockford, IL. This position ensures Quality Assurance is understood, executed, and compliant for internal and external customers.


2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm


What You Will Do


  • Take a lead role to identify Root Cause and Corrective Action for any internal escapes or turn backs that affect production flow and provide direct support to our Program Quality team towards customer escape resolution.

  • Utilize problem solving skills to drive continuous improvement throughout an assembly environment.

  • Create and manage control plans to ensure proper identification of KPIs as well as control of the assembly process.

  • Work in partnership with internal producer sites to implement and monitor proactive quality initiatives like RTX Zero.

  • Utilize corporate data streams to identify and report trends as well as improvement progress to management team.

  • Work in a multifunctional value stream.


Qualifications


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Quality and Problem-Solving tools.

  • Experience in creation and maintenance of Quality documents.

  • Experience in customer facing Quality initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.


Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.


Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.


Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.


This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
