Job summary

This is a Manufacturing Electrical/Test Engineering position supporting our Bellevue, Iowa facility. This role will be responsible for the verification, and sustainment of test processes, test equipment, and procedures that will be used in the manufacturing of new and existing Collins Aerospace products.

What You Will Do:
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product Quality.
  • Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve.
  • Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
  • Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities.
  • Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate test equipment needs.
  • Identify new test approaches that will minimize production staffing needs and capital requirements.
  • Support producibility and Testability initiatives for new designs and product upgrades.
  • Participates in Production Readiness Reviews to determine suitability of new designs for production.
  • Support efforts to conduct gage R&R efforts on new test solutions to verify consistent product and equipment performance.
  • Sustain/Support Responsible for providing technical support for entire product test process, board level through top-level test.
  • Develop complete working knowledge of any assigned test systems and hardware.
  • Provide test engineering support during the resolution of manufacturing flow inhibitors (MFIs).
  • Provides technical assistance and training support to all levels of testing including floor test technicians.
  • Provide technical mentorship to other engineers.
  • Interface with design engineering in coordinating design changes required for sustaining production during the resolution of obsolete part, tolerance, and test yield issues.
  • Work with test technicians to train them on products and test systems.
  • Assist them with troubleshooting of failed product.
  • Maintain test documentation for current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all test documents.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Must be a flexible team member be a self-starter, and able to multitask.
  • Experience providing technical leadership during the manufacture and test of avionics products.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of software programming.
  • Basic statistics.
  • Understands Parametric Process control and versed in implementation use and interpretation of Six sigma control methods.
  • Working knowledge of Lean electronics.
  • Manufacturing Experience.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • Dependable – demonstrates the ability to follow through on work assignments with little to no prompting and raises any potential issues found to leadership.
  • Drive – Exerts energy, persistence, and a positive attitude towards meeting project deadlines.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
