Job summary

RTX is seeking a detail-oriented Product Quality Engineer to support aerospace product quality in Tucson, AZ. You will ensure manufacturing processes and product builds comply with quality and engineering requirements, and you will drive root-cause and corrective action investigations.

You will collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams, support audits, use APQP methodology, and contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction. A DoD Secret clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least 2 years engineering experience, preferably in quality or manufacturing.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and using root-cause and corrective action tools.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Job description

We are excited to welcome a detail‑oriented and enthusiastic Product Quality Engineer to our Operations Quality Assurance team in Tucson, Arizona where you will support aerospace product quality through collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and product builds comply with quality and engineering requirements.
  • Drive problem‑solving projects, lead root‑cause and corrective action investigations.
  • Analyze nonconformities and recommend corrective actions and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, engineering teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Provide audit support and read/write work instructions.
  • Use APQP methodology to manage the production quality process.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in quality or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and using root‑cause and corrective action tools.
  • Experience with Pareto analysis, cause‑effect diagrams, process mapping, and other quality tools.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multi‑project management skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems using structured techniques.
  • Experience with containment plans for non‑compliance events (Escape) and First‑Article Inspections or PPAP.
  • Experience with SAP (PRISM) and supporting AS9100 or equivalent audits.
  • ASQ certification and knowledge of descriptive statistics and statistical control methods.
  • Level 4 Mission Assurance certification (internal candidates only).
Security Clearance

A DoD Secret clearance is required; a U.S. government‑issued clearance must be obtained and maintained before the start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.
