Job summary

Acutronic Group in Austin, TX is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support internal quality activities, drive RCCA investigations, and improve supplier quality performance. You will collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to resolve defects and prevent recurrence.

The role focuses on supplier development, containment, corrective actions, and preventive measures, while ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in quality engineering or related environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration with suppliers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans and acceptance criteria for incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Lead RCCA investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
• Manage NCRs, RMAs, and CARs to ensure timely closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement containment and corrective actions.
• Support supplier development and monitor supplier quality performance.
• Identify trends in supplier quality and drive defect reduction and inspection improvements.
• Issue and follow up on SCARs and verify corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers to resolve nonconforming materials and prevent repeats.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluations, audits, and ongoing performance assessments.
• Communicate supplier quality expectations with Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Support FMEA, Control Plans, and APQP as applicable.
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and QA records.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 and QMS documentation.
• Analyze quality data to reduce nonconformances and improve product quality.
• Provide guidance to inspectors and technicians on inspection methods and nonconforming material disposition.
• Partner with Engineering and Production to address manufacturing quality issues.
• Support FAI activities and aerospace requirements compliance.
• Assist with internal and external audits and corrective action follow-ups.
• Support product transfers, NPI, and manufacturing changes to maintain quality controls.
