Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer I for a 12-month contract position at its Gastonia, NC facility. The role focuses on material and product inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring quality before shipments to the Richmond location.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in quality or manufacturing, experience with sheet metal processes, and strong root-cause analysis skills. Occasional travel to Richmond, VA is required; salary ranges $35–$40/hour on W2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a technical field related to quality or manufacturing.
• Experience inspecting materials and products in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform material and product inspections at supplier locations and the Gastonia facility.
• Approve and release shipments for delivery to Richmond.
• Document inspection findings through reports, photographs, and quality records.
• Investigate nonconforming materials and assist with corrective actions.
• Support root cause analysis and problem-resolution activities for rejected shipments.
• Review quality documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
• Partner with suppliers, production teams, and quality personnel to improve product quality.
• Track and communicate quality performance metrics.
• Assist in implementing CAPA and support continuous improvement initiatives.
