UCT Scarborough, ME is seeking a Quality Engineer I to join our team in Scarborough, ME. The role focuses on coordinating quality activities, supporting new part launches, and driving continuous improvement across processes and products.

The successful candidate will apply SPC, 8D, and ISO9001 knowledge to meet technical requirements. You will mentor staff and collaborate with site functions to resolve issues and reduce costs while improving overall quality performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in relevant engineering field.
• 3–5 years manufacturing experience preferred; automotive/aerospace/semiconductor a plus.
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills.
• Familiarity with quality standards (ISO9001) and lean principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality improvement projects targeting cost of quality and defects.
• Apply SPC and root cause analysis to drive process improvements.
• Prepare data reports and present proposals to management.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Mentor personnel in lean and six sigma techniques.
• Provide technical liaison to operations to resolve quality issues.
• Support new parts/process launches with quality planning.
