Job summary

FIS is seeking a Software Tester/QA engineer in Milwaukee, WI, for a hybrid role. You will perform functional testing, create and maintain automated test scripts, and work with developers to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of testing tools, and excellent communication. The team values collaboration in an agile setting and efficient defect tracking via Jira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; five years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing and communicate activities and findings.
• Develop, maintain and upgrade manual or automated test scripts, test cases, utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools.
• Provide internal quality assurance.
• Create test plans based on user stories and unit testing provided by the developer.
• Communicate testing activities and findings clearly in stand-ups, demos, and Jira.

Location and Working Arrangement

Current and future sponsorship are not available for this position Milwaukee, WI Hybrid (three days in-office, two days virtual)

What you will be doing

• Performing functional testing and communicating activities and findings.
• Develops, maintains and upgrades manual or automated test scripts, test cases, utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools required to execute test plans.
• Providing internal quality assurance.
• Create test plans based on user stories and unit testing provided by the developer.
• Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms (including daily stand-up meetings, iteration and system demonstrations, and the project management application (Jira)).
• Controls and manages own daily test activities.
• Provides internal quality assurance.
• Supports product owner to identify risks and develops mitigation strategies.
• Organizes and maintains the test script repository.
• Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you will need

• Knowledge of methods, tools and technology used in software testing Knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software that meets needs of client/business partner and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met or exceeded
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills working with technical and non-technical individuals
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience
• Bonus if you have Automation Testing Experience Performance Testing Experience
