Job summary

FIS is hiring a QA Engineer to ensure quality and reliability of financial technology solutions. You will design test strategies, execute plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high‑quality software products across multiple office locations.

The role involves manual and automated testing, regression cycles, and exploring AI‑assisted testing to accelerate coverage. Hybrid work arrangement with onsite days in major offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, fintech preferred.
  • Automation testing experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience validating RESTful services with Postman and SQL-based checks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for fintech software.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate functionality, performance, and security.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
  • Drive test automation framework implementation to improve coverage.
  • Perform thorough regression testing for new features.
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and maintain test documentation.
  • Leverage AI-assisted testing to enhance efficiency and coverage.

About the Role:

As a QA Engineer, your days will be dynamic and engaging. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our financial technology solutions. A typical day may involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing test strategies, executing test plans, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our QA processes. You’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of innovation in the fintech industry. You will collaborate closely with QA engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure high‑quality delivery of software products. You’ll also experiment with AI‑powered testing tools to accelerate coverage, generate test data, and identify defects faster.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Test Strategy and Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for financial software applications, considering various scenarios and use cases.
  • Test Execution: Execute manual and automated tests to validate the functionality, performance, and security of our fintech products.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide valuable input during the development lifecycle.
  • Automation: Drive the implementation of test automation frameworks and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage of testing processes.
  • Regression Testing: Perform thorough regression testing to ensure the stability of existing features while validating the successful implementation of new functionalities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies, promoting a culture of quality within the organization.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and testing processes.
  • Leverage AI‑assisted testing frameworks and tools to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
What you Bring:
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field is preferred
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on fintech or related industries.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and techniques. Experience with automation testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically and find creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and articulate testing strategies and findings.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure thorough testing coverage and accurate defect reporting.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset and a passion for working in a team‑oriented culture.
  • Hands‑on experience with Browser Developer Tools for inspecting DOM elements and analyzing network traffic.
  • Proficient in validating RESTful services using tools such as Postman to verify status codes and data integrity.
  • Competent in writing SQL queries to perform backend data validation and ensure database consistency.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, Sprint‑based environments with the ability to reprioritize tasks as project needs evolve.

The pay range for this full‑time position is $ 72,030.00 - 122,450.00 USD Annual and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
