Job summary
Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking a Quality Engineer to evaluate and resolve technical problems across electro-mechanical assemblies, harnesses, and fabricated parts. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to drive quality improvements and ensure robust systems for embedded software, telematics, and energy storage solutions.
The role emphasizes hands-on QA across hardware and software domains, with a focus on lean processes, cross-functional teamwork,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable engineering field, computer science, or professional license.
- Previous quality engineering or related experience.
- Ability to interpret GD&T engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of quality systems used in manufacturing environments or software development.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, MS Project).
- Experience with Toyota Production Systems; Part Production Approval Process.
- Understanding of lean techniques and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Use extensive technical skills and knowledge of quality techniques for electro-mechanical assemblies, fabrication, welding, harnesses, cables, and formulated materials.
- Develop processes/procedures for Quality Management systems.
- Evaluate technical quality issues and develop solutions with documentation provided.
- Understand manufacturing processes with expertise in electronics, assemblies, harnesses, mechanical parts, and machined/fabricated components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally.
- Be a key member of the team in completing and resolving large quality system projects.
- Provide quality assurance for software development pertaining to embedded systems and telematics.
- Act as go-to for quality assurance for alternate energy storage systems and auto-guided vehicles.
