Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer in North Carolina to lead investigations and resolutions of supplier, production, and design quality issues.

The role acts as the customer’s advocate when quality problems are detected and may be assigned to specific product lines for focused support. You will interact with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Product and Sustaining Engineering, and Production Inventory Control while assisting with PPAP, internal/audits, and RMA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field is preferred.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment; experience with electromechanical devices is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts across the organization.
• Reading blueprints and specifications; knowledge of ISO standards.
• Lean and Six Sigma tools knowledge: DMAIC, PPAP, DFMEA, DOE, SPC, GR&R, CPk, APQP.

Responsibilities

• Respond to day-to-day design, production, and customer quality issues related to production lines.
• Resolve production problems associated with process, part, and design issue.
• Determine quality improvement parameters relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Maintain statistical process controls using demerit/unit, zone charting, x-bar charts, and range for multi‑stream processes.
• Analyze data by performing hypothesis tests, distributions analyses, and process capability analysis.
