Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to help investigate and resolve supplier, production, and design quality problems, acting as the customer’s advocate on quality concerns.

The role may focus on a specific product line for targeted support. The candidate will respond to daily quality issues, drive corrective actions, and maintain process controls while interfacing with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Sustaining Engineering to ensure quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field (ME, EE, IE) preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; electromechanical devices a plus.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across levels.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and material spec sheets; knowledge of ISO standards.
• Broad knowledge of materials and material evaluation.
• Lean and Six Sigma tools: DMAIC, PPAP, DFMEA, DOE, SPC, GR&R, CPk, APQP.

Responsibilities

• Respond to day-to-day design, production, and customer quality issues on production lines.
• Resolve production problems related to process, part, and design issues.
• Determine quality improvement parameters for manufacturing processes.
• Maintain statistical process controls and charts for distributions and multi-stream processes.
• Analyze data with hypothesis tests and process capability analyses.
• Prepare reports and provide recommendations from data analysis.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Product and Sustaining Engineering, and Production Inventory Control.
• Monitor self-release of products, first article, and PPAP preparation.
• Review manufacturing instructions for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead supplier audits and corrective actions; ensure compliance.
• Assist in meeting QA specifications across engineering and manufacturing.
