Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and dimensional inspection.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to understand how individual machining operations relate to finished part features.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review CNC programs, drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
• Identify the features created or modified during each machining operation.
• Define inspection characteristics, methods, sampling requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with CNC programmers, machinists, manufacturing engineers, and Quality Inspectors.
• Identify gaps between programming intent, manufacturing execution, and inspection requirements.
• Support nonconformance investigations, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Maintain appropriate documentation, traceability, and configuration control within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Quality Engineer – CNC Process & Inspection Planning

Position Summary

This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional quality role connecting CNC Programming, Manufacturing, and Quality Control. The Quality Engineer will review CNC programs, drawings, and manufacturing documentation to understand what features are produced during each machining operation and develop clear, operation‑specific inspection plans using 1Factory.

As the company continues expanding its aerospace and defense manufacturing capabilities, this position will help ensure inspection requirements are clearly defined throughout the machining process rather than relying primarily on final inspection.

Key Responsibilities

• Review CNC programs, drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.

• Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 13485.
• CMM, optical measurement, advanced metrology, or datum analysis experience.
• Familiarity with CAM software and CNC programming concepts.
