Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Automotive Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive manufacturer in Somerset, KY. The role supports customer and supplier quality throughout manufacturing, leads root cause analyses, and ensures PPAPs, PFMEAs, control plans, and SPC are properly implemented.

The ideal candidate will interpret blueprints and GD&T, inspect using CMMs and optical comparators, and collaborate with engineering and production to reduce defects while supporting new product launches.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Automotive Quality Engineering experience.
• Experience within automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other Automotive Core Tools.
• Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support customer and supplier quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
• Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
• Monitor SPC and process capability.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Perform mechanical inspections utilizing CMMs, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Conduct supplier audits and support customer scorecards.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
• Support new product launches and APQP activities.
• Help mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians while serving as a technical resource across the plant.
