Job summary

Mural Group is partnering with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier to place a Quality Engineer at their Morganfield, KY facility. You will own the quality function, manage APQP through the manufacturing process, and coordinate PPAP packages to maintain IATF 16949 certification.

You will work with customers during APQP meetings, implement 8D corrective actions, and act as the quality liaison with suppliers, including CMM programming for dimensional layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field is required.
• 1 to 3 years of quality engineering experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing.
• Active APQP and PPAP ownership experience with submitting packages and coordinating approvals.
• IATF 16949 or TS-16949 quality system experience including audit participation.
• 8D and structured problem-solving (TOPS / GPS) experience.
• CMM operation experience preferred.
• SPC and GD&T familiarity.
• Direct customer-facing quality experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical quality function for the plant, managing APQP activity through manufacturing.
• Coordinate and prepare PPAP packages and maintain certification logs.
• Maintain the facility’s IATF 16949 certification and participate in audits.
• Work with customers during APQP meetings and process sign-offs.
• Develop and implement 8D corrective actions for quality issues.
• Create and maintain control plans and work instructions; operate and program the CMM for layouts.
• Serve as quality liaison with suppliers on product quality concerns.
