Job summary

Kapco Metal Stamping in Grafton, WI is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our precision-focused team. You will develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing customers to address inspection needs and support the quality lab with inspections, analysis, testing, documentation, and recordkeeping.

You will participate in New Product Development, Advanced Product Quality Planning, and prepare PPAP documentation to customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment with quality tools and problem-solving methods.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; Industrial or Mechanical preferred.
  • ASQ CQE or CQA desirable.
  • Auditor experience (ISO 9000 and TS 16949) desirable.
  • Structured problem-solving experience (Six Sigma Green Belt or Shainin Red "X" Journeyman) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in New Product Development.
  • Supports Advanced Product Quality Planning processes.
  • Prepares Product Part Approval Process documentation to customer requirements for new products.
  • Interprets customer GD&T print requirements.
  • Communicates with suppliers or customers on quality and print issues.
  • Prepares and directs the Control Plan documentation system.
  • May perform Quality inspector duties as needed.
  • Evaluates parts or processes and reports non-conformances.
  • Utilizes systems for control of non-conforming materials and CAPA.
  • Investigates and documents 8D corrective actions.
  • Promotes continuous improvement teams and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Kapco is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Grafton, WI team. The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with manufacturing and production internal customers to address inspection needs. Communicate results and solutions in an effective and efficient manner for inspection projects and provide overall support in the quality lab including inspections, analysis, testing, documentation and recordkeeping.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • lnvolved in New Product Development
  • Participates in Advanced Product Quality Planning
  • Prepares Product Part Approval Process documentation to the customers' requirements for new product submissions
  • Interprets customer GD&T print requirements
  • Communicates with suppliers or customers on quality and print related issues
  • Prepares and directs the Control Plan document system
  • May perform Quality inspector's duties and responsibilities
  • Evaluates parts or processes and reports any non-conformances
  • Utilizes the system for control of Non-conforming materials and processes and Corrective and Preventive Action
  • Investigates and documents 8D formatted corrective actions
  • Promotes and participates on continuous improvement teams, as needed
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in quality engineering and related disciplines including implementing and applying quality tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, SPC, GD&T) and problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, etc.) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • ASQ CQE or CQA desirable
  • Auditor experience (ISO 9000 and TS 16949)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (Six Sigma Green Belt or Shainin Red "X" Journeyman) desired.
