Job summary

Geiger Automotive USA Inc in Suwanee, GA is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen the quality program across automotive manufacturing. You will implement LEAN tools, 5S principles, and ensure adherence to established procedures and quality requirements.

You will lead root cause analysis (8D/5Why), support PFMEA and Control Plans, and assist with internal/external audits to maintain certifications (IATF 16949, ISO 14001). Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering (engineering preferred).
• At least 3 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with QMS and methodologies.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Able to travel to customer and supplier sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist to ensure compliance to Geiger Automotive Quality System Requirements by developing quality procedures.
• Maintain integrity of data and quality processes for assigned products.
• Accountable for strong customer relationships and timely responses to complaints.
• Improve product quality through process improvements and root cause analysis (8D/5Why).
• Participate in cross-functional problem solving teams and audits.
• Review PFMEA and Control Plans; perform process audits.
• Promote safety and quality; support 6S audits and shop floor 5S.
• Collaborate with German colleagues on quality/warranty activities for returned products.

3. Responsible for 5s Compliance:

• Organization / sorting / work safety / environmental protection in the task pane
• Comply with all legal regulations and processes
• Safety related to the areas managed by the Quality department, Laboratory, quality hold area, etc.
• Assist with the implement of LEAN Manufacturing tools in the quality department; kan ban, plinko boards, visual management boards, etc.
• Ensure that workflows, processes and products comply with established procedures and quality requirements.

5. Function, who is responsible during absence:

Quality Engineers

• Assist to ensure compliance to the Geiger Automotive Quality System Requirements by developing quality procedures to meet these requirements.
• Ensure the integrity of all data and quality processes being used for product assigned.
• Accountable to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Improve product quality by making recommendations of process improvements.
• Perform 8D and 5Why Root Cause analysis and problem solving.
• Participation in cross-functional problem solving teams.
• Ensure product inspections are completed to established inspection guides.
• Review PFMEA’s and Control Plans as required. Perform process audits of each.
• Establish process improvements to reduce scrap and rework.
• Assist to ensure compliance to internal, external audits and certificates for IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
• Promote Safety and Quality as the highest priorities.
• Perform 6S Audits for operational improvements.
• Work with German colleagues with Quality / Warranty activities for returned products.
• Investigate, test and prepare reports on Customer Warranty Returns as required.
• Perform any other task as given by the Quality Manager or General Manager.
• Assist with maintaining the 5s principles for the shop floor and work areas.

7. Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering, Engineering preferred.
• At least 3 years of quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Hands on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and methodologies.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001.
• Assist in promoting Plant initiatives reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
• Able to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Statistical Analysis.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Travel to customer, supplier sites as required.
