Actalent in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead APQP activities, PPAP documentation, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will coordinate SPC, audits, and quality training while serving as the liaison between customers, suppliers, and production teams.

The role requires a four‑year degree (or two‑year degree with 2–5 years’ quality experience) and hands‑on experience with quality systems.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree, or a two-year degree with 2–5 years quality experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP and part warrants.
• Experience in QS-9000 quality system environment.
• ASQ CQE or TS16949 internal auditor is a strong plus.
• Experience working with multiple OEMs and tier 1 suppliers is beneficial.
• Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives across cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in quality coaching, training, and technical guidance to plant personnel.
• Technical writing skills for clear quality documentation.
• Experience supporting and participating in process and system audits.

• Coordinate and support process audits with quality technicians and analysts to ensure adherence to quality standards and system requirements.
• Provide quality coaching and training to team members to promote consistent application of quality methodologies and tools.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports related to quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support audit activities, including internal system audits and customer or third‑party audits, by providing documentation and process evidence.
• Review SOPs for quality impact and recommend updates to improve process control and product conformity.
• Support and promote a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable quality system requirements.

The Quality Engineer leads Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and part warrants, while developing and maintaining quality objectives through continuous improvement and direct customer interaction on existing and new products. This role drives customer issue resolution, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary quality liaison between customers, suppliers, and manufacturing operations. • Ability to conduct and support SOP reviews from a quality perspective.
• Experience leading customer quality activities, including issue resolution and corrective actions.
• Ability to manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and interpret process data.
• Experience providing quality coaching, training, and technical guidance to plant personnel.
• Technical writing skills for creating clear, accurate quality documentation and reports.
• Experience supporting and participating in process and system audits.
• Four‑year college degree, or a two‑year degree combined with 2–5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a TS16949 systems internal auditor is a strong plus.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar ASQ certification is a strong plus.
• Experience working with multiple OEMs and tier 1 suppliers is beneficial.
• Ability to work with advanced equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives across cross‑functional teams.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
