Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Quality Engineer for a client near Palatine, IL—a leading national manufacturer of custom retail displays. The role focuses on advancing quality systems, improving processes, and supporting manufacturing excellence in an assembly environment.

You will lead inspections, CAPA, FAI/PPAP activities, and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure product quality from concept through production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or another STEM field.
  • ASQ Certification or equivalent quality experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related manufacturing quality role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement tools such as calipers and CMMs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of quality control systems, inspection methods, and validation processes.
  • Conduct product and process inspections to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
  • Lead FAI, PPAP activities, and validation efforts.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve quality and performance.
  • Investigate quality issues and nonconformances using root cause analysis.
  • Develop CAPA to eliminate recurring issues and monitor results.
  • Utilize quality metrics and data to monitor performance and drive improvements.
  • Support risk assessment activities including FMEA and quality planning.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain to maintain quality.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation including SOPs and inspection records.

My client is seeking a Quality Engineer to play a key role in advancing quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting manufacturing excellence in an assembly environment. Because of exciting growth, they are hiring for an experienced Quality Engineer at their location near Palatine, IL.

Description
  • Support the development and implementation of quality control systems, inspection methods, and validation processes.
  • Conduct product and process inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Lead and support First Article Inspections (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, and validation efforts.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve product quality and operational performance.
  • Investigate quality issues and nonconformances using structured root cause analysis methods.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Utilize quality metrics and data to monitor performance and drive improvements.
  • Support risk assessment activities including FMEA and other quality planning tools.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to maintain high quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Help create and maintain quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions, inspection records, and quality reports.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to address quality concerns and improve overall manufacturing performance.
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or another STEM-related field preferred.
  • ASQ Certification or equivalent quality experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related manufacturing quality role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems, and CMMs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to identifying and resolving quality concerns.
Job Offer
  • Base salary $80,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
  • Annual bonus target - 7% target
  • 18 days paid time off + paid holidays
  • 2:30pm exit every Friday!
  • 401k with 3% match
