Job description

Berkeley Staffing is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to support our client’s operations. In this role, you will be responsible for addressing customer concerns, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring product quality across the production line. This position plays a key role in driving process improvements and collaborating with various departments to meet quality standards within the industry.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the resolution of customer complaints by working closely with customer representatives and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve issues related to manufacturing processes and product defects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance machining and assembly processes, implementing improvements to drive quality and efficiency.
  • Utilize quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, PDCA, and CIP to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation for customer audits, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Offer engineering support for the calibration and maintenance of measurement and testing equipment.
  • Work within cross‑functional teams to drive business objectives and achieve process and product quality improvements.
  • Independently manage department projects, ensuring that cost and quality objectives are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to independently prepare presentations and technical reports.
  • Experience working across different levels of an organization and collaborating with product testing teams.
  • Strong project management abilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, serving as a change agent to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and statistical software (Tableau, Power BI); knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus.
