Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and SPC.
  • Experience supporting both manufacturing quality and supplier quality activities.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing quality activities to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems, inspection processes, and control plans.
  • Drive APQP activities for new product launches and process changes.
  • Prepare and submit PPAP documentation to customers.
  • Review engineering changes and assess quality impacts within manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with production teams to reduce scrap, rework, warranty concerns, and customer complaints.
  • Monitor key quality metrics and implement improvement initiatives to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Conduct process audits and support compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Facilitate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and track completion of corrective and preventive actions.

Position Summary

A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality initiatives, supplier quality performance, and continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced production environment. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements while serving as a key liaison between production, suppliers, and customers.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on automotive quality engineering experience and a strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, root cause problem solving, and supplier quality management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing quality activities to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems, inspection processes, and control plans.
  • Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product launches and process changes.
  • Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation to customers.
  • Review engineering changes and assess quality impacts within manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with production teams to reduce scrap, rework, warranty concerns, and customer complaints.
  • Monitor key quality metrics and implement improvement initiatives to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Conduct process audits and support compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Facilitate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and track completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support internal and external audits, customer visits, and quality-related reporting activities.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
    • PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
    • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
    • Control Plans
    • SPC (Statistical Process Control)
    • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • Experience supporting both manufacturing quality and supplier quality activities.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
  • Experience utilizing quality tools such as Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
