Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our automotive manufacturing team. You will work directly on the shop floor, identify and resolve defects, implement corrective actions, and lead structured root-cause analysis using 8D and 5-Why methods.

The role requires collaboration with production, engineering, and suppliers, plus extensive PPAP/APQP documentation and customer communication. Automotive OEM/customer requirements will guide daily priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Tier 1 automotive supplier experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and problem-solving methods.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by identifying, investigating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes of quality problems.
  • Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other methods.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC activities.
  • Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to reduce scrap and defects.
  • Analyze quality data and use statistical methods to identify trends.
  • Participate in process and product audits and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Support new product launches and process changes from development through production.

Quality Engineer – Automotive ManufacturingWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on manufacturing quality engineering experience, preferably with a Tier 1 automotive supplier, and a strong understanding of the quality systems and problem-solving methods required in the automotive industry.This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor, solving problems, working with customers and suppliers, and driving continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day manufacturing operations by identifying, investigating, and resolving quality issues.Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes of quality problems.Lead structured problem-solving activities using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other root-cause analysis methods.Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC activities.Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements.Work directly with production, engineering, maintenance, tooling, and management to resolve quality issues.Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for reducing scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints.Analyze quality data and use statistical methods to identify trends and recurring issues.Develop and maintain inspection standards, control plans, work instructions, and other quality documentation.Participate in process and product audits and ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements.Assist with customer and supplier quality issues, including containment, root-cause investigation, and corrective action.Support new product launches and process changes from initial development through production.Communicate directly with automotive customers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and PPAP requirements.Conduct layered process audits and other quality audits as required.Help establish and maintain effective incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes.Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation.Required QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Tier 1 automotive supplier experience highly preferred.Strong working knowledge of:APQPPPAPPFMEAControl PlansMSASPC8D problem solvingRoot-cause analysisCorrective and preventive actionAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.Experience working with automotive customer requirements and quality standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience using quality data and statistical tools to identify process issues.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and engineering teams.Ability to work effectively on the manufacturing floor and address problems in real time.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with major automotive OEM customers.Experience with IATF 16949 quality systems.Experience with customer-specific requirements.Experience conducting internal, process, or layered audits.Experience with gage R&R and measurement systems analysis.Experience with supplier quality and supplier corrective actions.Experience supporting new program launches and production transfers.Experience with machining, stamping, welding, assembly, or other automotive manufacturing processes.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a hands-on automotive Quality Engineer who understands that quality engineering isn't limited to paperwork and reports.
