Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America seeks a Quality Engineer at our Muscatine, IA facility. You will apply technical expertise to evaluate and resolve quality issues, working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to deliver results.

The role covers electro-mechanical assemblies, embedded software quality, and participation in large quality projects; in‑person work, with ~25% travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering field, computer science, or professional license.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality systems used in manufacturing or software development.
  • Lean techniques and continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience with Toyota Production System and Part Production Approval Process.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, MS Project).

Responsibilities

  • Apply quality techniques to electro-mechanical assemblies, fabrication, wiring, and materials.
  • Develop processes for Quality Management systems.
  • Evaluate technical quality issues and develop documented solutions.
  • Understand manufacturing processes across electronics and mechanical assemblies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally.
  • Lead large, consequential quality system projects to completion.
  • Provide quality assurance for embedded software and telematics.
  • Support QA for alternate energy storage systems and AGVs.

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Quality Engineer who brings strong decision-making and technical expertise to the table. In this role, you'll work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to evaluate and resolve technical problems while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Use extensive technical skills, expertise, and knowledge of quality techniques as applied to electro-mechanical assemblies, fabrication, welding techniques, harnesses and cables, and formulated materials.
  • Develop processes/procedures for Quality Management systems
  • Evaluate technical quality issues and develop solutions with documentation provided
  • Understand manufacturing processes with expertise in electronics, electronic assemblies, harnesses, mechanical assemblies as well as fabricated, machined, and welded parts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally.
  • Be a key member of the team in completion and resolution of large, consequential quality system projects.
  • Be knowledgeable in quality assurance for software development pertaining to embedded systems, and telematics.
  • You’ll be the go-to for quality assurance for alternate energy storage systems and auto-guided vehicles.
What We're Looking For:

Where and When You'll Work:
  • This is an in-person role located at our Muscatine, IA facility - ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
  • Travel is required approximately 25% of the time - both domestic and international.
What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$64,440 - $106,800per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
