Job summary

Toyota Material Handling's Greene, NY site seeks a Quality Engineer who brings strong decision-making and technical expertise to evaluate and resolve problems across electro-mechanical assemblies, electronics, harnesses, and embedded software.

You will develop quality processes, interpret GD&T drawings, and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to drive large quality system projects while promoting lean methods, continuous improvement, and robust supplier QA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, computer science, or professional license.
  • Experience in quality engineering or related field.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T drawings.
  • Experience with quality systems in manufacturing or software development.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, MS Project).
  • Experience with Toyota Production System.
  • Experience with Part Production Approval Process.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quality techniques to electro-mechanical assemblies, harnesses, and formed materials.
  • Develop processes for Quality Management systems.
  • Evaluate quality issues and develop documented solutions.
  • Understand manufacturing processes including electronics and mechanical parts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead large quality system projects to completion.
  • Provide QA for software development in embedded systems and telematics.
  • QA lead for alternate energy storage systems and autonomous vehicles.

The Role:

We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Quality Engineer who brings strong decision-making and technical expertise to the table. In this role, you’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Suppliers to evaluate and resolve technical problems while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Use extensive technical skills, expertise, and knowledge of quality techniques as applied to electro-mechanical assemblies, fabrication, welding techniques, harnesses and cables, and formulated materials.
  • Develop processes/procedures for Quality Management systems
  • Evaluate technical quality issues and develop solutions with documentation provided
  • Understand manufacturing processes with expertise in electronics, electronic assemblies, harnesses, mechanical assemblies as well as fabricated, machined, and welded parts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally.
  • Be a key member of the team in completion and resolution of large, consequential quality system projects.
  • Be knowledgeable in quality assurance for software development pertaining to embedded systems, and telematics.
  • You’ll be the go-to for quality assurance for alternate energy storage systems and auto-guided vehicles.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering field, computer science, or professional license
What Sets You Apart:
  • Previous quality engineering or related experience
  • Ability to interpret GD&T engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of quality systems used in manufacturing environments or software development

Where and When You’ll Work:

This is an in-person role located at our Greene, NY office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Travel is required approximately 25% of the time – domestic and international.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$64,440 - $94,667 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation:This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
