Jobot in Texas is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support electronics manufacturing, drive defect reduction, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IPC standards.

The role focuses on NPI quality, process control, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and suppliers to deliver reliable products to customers. Experience with FPY, DPPM, CAPA, and FAI is valued, along with hands-on inspection methods such as AOI and X-ray.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) preferred.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, PCBA, EMS).
• Strong understanding of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001).
• Experience with quality tools (SPC, FMEA, CAPA, Lean/Six Sigma).
• Hands-on inspection methods (AOI, X-ray, functional testing).
• Knowledge of soldering processes, reflow ovens, and PCB assembly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality processes in electronics manufacturing.
• Support SMT/PCBA lines, soldering processes, and assembly quality.
• Lead RCA and CAPA using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Monitor FPY, DPPM, scrap, and rework; drive improvements.
• Support NPI to embed quality from the start.
• Conduct internal and external audits as needed.
• Ensure ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and customer requirements.
• Review FAI, control plans, PFMEAs, and process docs.
• Track supplier performance and supplier corrective actions.

Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer with strong experience in electronics manufacturing to support quality systems, product reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will play a key role in driving defect reduction, supporting new product introductions (NPI), and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes and procedures within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Support SMT/PCBA production lines, including soldering processes, inspection standards, and assembly quality
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
• Partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
• Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (FPY, DPPM, scrap, rework) and implement improvement initiatives
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts to ensure quality standards are built into processes from the start
• Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits as needed
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), and customer-specific requirements
• Review and approve first article inspections (FAI), control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues, including supplier corrective actions and performance tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) preferred
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, PCBA, or EMS)
• Strong understanding of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
• Experience with quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, CAPA, Lean/Six Sigma)
• Hands-on experience with inspection methods (AOI, X-ray, functional testing)

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Proficiency in quality systems documentation and data analysis
