Job summary

Jobot is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer with strong electronics manufacturing experience to support quality systems, product reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will drive defect reduction, support NPI, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC standards, and customer requirements.

The role involves leading CAPA, performing audits, and collaborating across engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure quality from design through production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial) preferred.
• 4+ years of Quality Engineering in electronics manufacturing (SMT/PCBA/EMS).
• Strong IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 knowledge.
• Experience with SPC, FMEA, CAPA, Lean/Six Sigma.
• Hands-on inspection experience (AOI, X-ray, functional testing).
• Familiarity with soldering processes, reflow ovens and PCB assembly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes in electronics manufacturing.
• Support SMT/PCBA production lines, soldering, inspection standards, and assembly quality.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Monitor FPY, DPPM, scrap, rework; drive improvement initiatives.
• Support NPI to embed quality in processes from start.
• Conduct internal and customer audits; ensure ISO 9001, IPC standards compliance.
• Review FAI, control plans, PFMEAs, process docs.
• Collaborate with suppliers on corrective actions and performance.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes and procedures within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Support SMT/PCBA production lines, including soldering processes, inspection standards, and assembly quality
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
• Partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
• Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (FPY, DPPM, scrap, rework) and implement improvement initiatives
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts to ensure quality standards are built into processes from the start
• Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits as needed
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), and customer-specific requirements
• Review and approve first article inspections (FAI), control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues, including supplier corrective actions and performance tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) preferred
• 4+ years of Quality Engineering experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, PCBA, or EMS)
• Strong understanding of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
• Experience with quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, CAPA, Lean/Six Sigma)
• Hands‑on experience with inspection methods (AOI, X-ray, functional testing)
• Knowledge of soldering processes, reflow ovens, and PCB assembly
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
• Proficiency in quality systems documentation and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification
• Experience in regulated industries (medical device, aerospace, defense)
• Familiarity with ERP/MES quality modules
