Job summary

Staffmark is hiring for a Quality Engineer on a direct hire basis in Lynchburg, Ohio. The role focuses on improving product quality, leading APQP activities, and supporting ISO 9001 compliant processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering and 2–5 years' quality engineering experience in electronics manufacturing, with strong data analysis and documentation skills. This is a Monday–Friday on-site position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of quality engineering experience preferred in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or higher quality standards.
  • Experience with APQP processes including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Knowledge of statistical inspection methods and quality systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
  • IPC-A-610/620 Certified Expert Trainer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support corrective and preventive action processes, including CARs, SCARs, RMAs, and 8D investigations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Inspection teams to improve product quality and process performance.
  • Define and support incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements.
  • Analyze production processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics and statistical process controls.
  • Assist with supplier qualification, evaluations, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate APQP activities with suppliers and customers.
  • Support employee training programs related to quality systems and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards and support third-party audits.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with applicable industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Train inspectors and team members on IPC acceptability standards.
  • Serve as a quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel to supplier and customer locations as needed.

  • Occasional travel required to customer and supplier locations.
  • Ability to review technical documentation and analyze detailed quality data.
