Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Quality Engineer in Lynchburg, OH to join a growing team. The role is direct hire with a salary of $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year and a Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM schedule.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2-5 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing, with ISO 9001 knowledge and APQP experience (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, PPAP).

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
  • 2-5 years of quality engineering experience preferred in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or higher quality standards.
  • Experience with APQP processes including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Knowledge of statistical inspection methods and quality systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
  • IPC-A-610/620 Certified Expert Trainer preferred.
Job Duties
  • Support corrective and preventive action processes, including CARs, SCARs, RMAs, and 8D investigations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Inspection teams to improve product quality and process performance.
  • Define and support incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements.
  • Analyze production processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics and statistical process controls.
  • Assist with supplier qualification, evaluations, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate APQP activities with suppliers and customers.
  • Support employee training programs related to quality systems and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards and support third-party audits.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with applicable industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Train inspectors and team members on IPC acceptability standards.
  • Serve as a quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel to supplier and customer locations as needed.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform audits and inspections on production floors and supplier sites.
  • Occasional travel required to customer and supplier locations.
  • Ability to review technical documentation and analyze detailed quality data.
