Job summary

Reviva Inc. is seeking a data-driven Quality Engineer to oversee and elevate manufacturing quality on the Fridley, MN shop floor. You will champion process integrity, lead root-cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement to reduce warranty claims through thorough teardown analysis.

You will collaborate with operations, support audit readiness, and coach frontline teams to embed defect-free practices across production. This hands-on role rewards proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Structured root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and standard work instructions.
  • Strong data analysis of quality KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.

Summary

We are seeking a data-driven and proactive Quality Engineer to oversee and elevate our manufacturing quality standards. In this role, you will champion process integrity, lead rigorous root-cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. You will collaborate closely with operations, support audit readiness, and eventually own the reduction of customer warranty claims through physical teardown analysis. This position is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who thrives on coaching frontline teams and embedding sustainable, defect-free practices across production.

Job Requirements
Process & Operations Quality
  • Process Auditing: Perform regular process audits across production departments to verify adherence to the traveler, standard work, and quality standards.
  • Operator Coaching: Observe and evaluate operator technique, identifying deviations from standard work and coaching frontline employees to correct methods in real time.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze in-process and final inspection data to detect trends, emerging non-conformances, and opportunities for defect prevention.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update 8D reports and related quality documentation to reflect the current process state.
Corrective Action & Problem Solving
  • Root Cause Investigation: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for internal quality escapes, customer warranty returns, and field failures.
  • CAPA Implementation: Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions, tracking effectiveness through defined metrics and follow-up audits.
  • Material Containment: Coordinate with the Supplier Quality Engineer, production supervisors, and team leads to ensure timely containment of non-conforming products discovered within the remanufacturing process.
  • Standardization: Support the development and revision of standardized work instructions and visual aids to reduce variation and operator error.
  • KPI Reporting: Track and report key quality KPIs and present findings and improvement progress to management.
Warranty Support
  • Warranty Reduction: Own and drive the reduction of external customer warranty numbers by analyzing warranty trends, identifying systemic process or workmanship root causes, and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Teardown Analysis: Conducting warranty engine teardown analysis, and documenting findings to drive root cause investigations.
Qualifications:
  • Problem Solving: Experience in structured root cause analysis tools including 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa (fishbone) diagrams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, standard work instructions, and analyzing statistical quality KPIs.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to coach frontline operators and present data to management.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Fast-paced,hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE is always required on manufacturing floor.
