Job summary

Adecco Portugal is partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturer in Hartford County, CT to recruit a Quality Engineer who will support manufacturing, inspection, and continuous improvement in a regulated aerospace environment.

The role collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, with a hands-on shop-floor focus and drive for process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing.
• Strong AS9100 knowledge and experience with FAI/AS9102.
• Familiarity with MRB processes and nonconformance investigations.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and blueprints.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quality documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain AS9100 quality management system compliance.
• Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for conformance.
• Lead nonconformance investigations and CAPA activities.
• Drive root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone tools.
• Support MRB, audits, and disposition of nonconforming product.
• Generate FAIRs per AS9102 and monitor quality metrics for improvements.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to reduce scrap and improve yield.
• Assist with supplier quality issues and documentation activities.

We are partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturer in Hartford County, CT seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing, inspection, and continuous improvement activities within a regulated aerospace environment. This role will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customers to ensure products meet all quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with production teams, solving problems on the shop floor, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure compliance throughout manufacturing
• Lead investigations related to nonconforming material, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
• Drive RCCA activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis
• Participate in MRB activities and disposition of nonconforming product
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Generate and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 requirements
• Monitor production quality metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce scrap, and improve yield
• Assist with supplier quality issues and corrective actions when needed
• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and aerospace industry standards
• Support calibration, inspection, and documentation activities as required
• Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and records within the QMS system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of AS9100 and aerospace quality standards
• Experience with FAI/AS9102 documentation and processes
• Familiarity with MRB processes and nonconformance investigations
• Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and quality documentation systems
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel
