Job summary

Apton, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Austin-area team on a 12+ month contract. You will develop and run test plans, perform functional/regression testing, and manage defects while validating applications on Ubuntu-based systems and in VDI/remote desktop environments.

The role requires 2+ years in QA, strong Linux command-line skills, and experience with Jira/TestRail plus VDI technologies. Collaboration with development and infrastructure teams is essential to ensure top-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Eng or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / QA.
• Hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Linux systems and command-line operations.
• Strong understanding of VDI technologies (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop) and remote desktop protocols (RDP, PCoIP, HDX).
• Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
