Job summary

Venteon partners with a leading automotive supplier in Adrian, MI, to recruit a Quality Engineer for 1st Shift on a direct-hire basis. The role focuses on supporting APQP, PPAP, and continuous quality improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years of automotive quality experience, strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, GD&T and SPC, plus the ability to lead problem-solving efforts and coordinate cross-functional actions.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of automotive quality engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and AIAG Core Tools.
• Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and customer-specific requirements.
• Proficiency with GD&T, blueprint reading, SPC, capability studies and Gauge R&R.
• Experience utilizing 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• CQE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering activities supporting production, programs, and continuous improvement.
• Support APQP activities, PPAP submissions, PFMEA, DFMEA, and control plans.
• Investigate customer and supplier quality concerns using 8D and other methods.
• Analyze SPC data, capability studies, Gauge R&R, and inspection results to improve performance.
• Review GD&T, CMM reports, drawings, and fixture designs for compliance.
• Conduct internal audits and layered process audits supporting IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Support supplier quality activities including PPAP approvals and development.
• Assist with new product launches, engineering changes, and prototype validation.
• Develop and deliver quality training and support plant-wide initiatives.

• Lead quality engineering activities supporting production, customer programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support APQP activities, PPAP submissions, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, DFMEAs, and Control Plans.
• Investigate customer and supplier quality concerns utilizing 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Analyze SPC data, capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, and dimensional inspection results to improve manufacturing performance.
• Review GD&T, CMM reports, engineering drawings, and fixture designs to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Conduct internal audits and layered process audits while supporting compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Support supplier quality activities, including PPAP approvals, supplier development, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist with new product launches, engineering changes, and prototype validation.
• Develop and deliver quality training while supporting plant-wide quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and AIAG Core Tools.
• Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Proficiency with GD&T, blueprint reading, SPC, capability studies, and Gauge R&R.
• Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred.
