Job summary

Children’s Medical Center is a busy pediatric practice proudly serving our community for over30 years, with four locations. We are seeking afull-time Quality Engagement Specialist to join our Patient-Centered Medical Home team. This role supports quality-improvement initiatives by engaging with patients and families, coordinating outreach, assisting with care-gap closure, and collaborating with clinical and administrative team members to improve health outcomes and the overall patient experience.

Job Summary:

The Quality Engagement Specialist is a position that performs a wide array of administrative tasks to support the Quality and Compliance Department's approach towards evaluating and/or improving patient engagement.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with QI team members to establish quality standards, benchmarks, and measures of performance in support of Agency Programs/Departments.
  • Patient outreach as required to attain quality goals and measures, including daily phone recalls to schedule appointments required by insurance plans and CMC requirements.
  • Compiles data from various software systems and departments for data retrieval, analysis, performance improvement monitoring, and strategic planning.
  • Assists in running, managing, and data review processes for assuring accuracy and integrity of health services data reports to meet regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Creates data tools for recording objective assessment information for performance management and development process.
  • Participates on Comprehensive Review Team for internal audit readiness related to program performance initiatives, qualitative standards, and contract compliance.
  • Participates in other committee meetings to support QI initiatives.
  • Follows instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliable data.
  • Maintains professional appearance and neat work habits.
  • Participates in ongoing skills development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exemplifies excellent customer service, verbal communication skills, conflict resolution with patients/parents/guardians, visitors, and other employees; shows courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect.
  • Experience working with patients and appointment scheduling in an electronic health record is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate notes and records.
  • Strong phone, spelling and grammar, computer, and keyboarding skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and understanding and commitment to delivery of patient-centered medical care with a team-based approach.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and is detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities.
  • Consistently alters plans/routines when situation requires and continues to perform without projecting stress/f
    rustration that would adversely affect the work environment.
  • Maintains and ensures patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Takes the initiative to proactively assist Receptionists with or without direct supervision and to resolve problems.
Job Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clinical Experience Preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
