Job summary

WBM INC in Wheeling, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our CNC machine shop. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, offering a hands-on role in a precision manufacturing environment where quality matters and career growth is encouraged.

You will inspect parts, use calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, read drawings including GD&T, and maintain QC documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control or inspection within a CNC or precision machining environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Inspect CNC machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality control records.
• Identify, tag, and report non-conforming parts and coordinate with machinists on corrective actions.
• Perform in-process and final inspections throughout the production workflow.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, blueprints, and internal quality standards.
