Job summary

WBM INC in Wheeling, IL is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our full-time team. You will set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts per blueprints and tolerances.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, verifying dimensions with calipers and micrometers, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. This role rewards accuracy, teamwork, and timely delivery. Experience with G-code and attention to quality are valued.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or machining centers required.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with G-code and M-code programming is a plus.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision parts per specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs
• Perform routine machine inspections, adjustments, and basic maintenance
• Conduct quality control checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently
• Identify and troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety standards
