Job summary

WBM INC in Wheeling, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure precision and consistency in every CNC machined component. You will inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications, leveraging calipers, micrometers, CMM, and gauges.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T tolerances, documenting inspection results, and communicating non-conforming parts to production and engineering teams. High attention to detail required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in quality inspection within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality management systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect CNC machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, and gauges.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T tolerances.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality control records.
• Identify and communicate non-conforming parts to production and engineering teams.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components.
