ICP Group is seeking to identify a Quality Control Technician to join our team at our Tampa, FL plant. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for the inspection, adjustment, and testing of batches and finished products produced in the plant with a primary focus on the physical adjustment of batches out on the manufacturing floor. This role may also be responsible for the inspection of incoming bulk and non-bulk raw materials, proper storage of physical retains as well as document information, reporting safety incidents, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Works in primarily QC laboratory during assigned hours, but also on plant floor.
- Creates recommendations for batch adjustments based on inspection and history.
- Communicates batch adjustments on the manufacturing floor to the operators and leadership.
- Tests incoming batches by following standard operating procedures and recording results.
- Approves batches for use on the production line.
- Informs leadership of any non-conforming batches and raw materials.
- Tests incoming raw materials following standard operating procedures and recording results.
- Obtains retain samples of batches and raw materials and ensure proper storage of these samples and any related documentation
. - Informs leadership of QC equipment malfunctions or low levels of supplies.
- Create Batch Tickets: Initiate the creation of batch tickets by documenting the consumption of raw materials. Ensure that all relevant details, such as material type, quantity, and batch number, are accurately recorded.
- Post Consumption: Post the consumption of raw materials in the system. This step involves updating the inventory records to reflect the materials used in the production process.
- Report Finished Products: Once the production process is complete, report the finished products. This includes recording the quantity produced, batch number, and any other pertinent information.
- Performing and addressing transactions associated with the Warehouse Management System.
- Printing labels using Bartender and Easy Touch.
- Documents and records batch testing data and finished goods testing data in electronic QC database.
- Works in a safe & efficient manner and follows all company policies.
- Wear designated PPE (personal protective equipment) for assigned department area and tasks.
- Report any and all safety incidents.
- Keep work area & equipment clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience needed- Previous experience as quality or lab technician.
- Prefer three years of experience in a production environment, i.e. mixing/blending operations, making products by following prescribed company formulas and procedures, etc.
- Background testing various types of materials and recording results
- Must possess ability to lift medium to heavy weights intermittently. Must be able to bend, stretch and reach in positions to move & mix raw materials of batches.
- Must be able to see and interpret color.
- Follow company policies & procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in math is essential for calculating test results.
- Must feel comfortable using measurements in different Units of Measure.
- Must demonstrate the dexterity to use various testing devices repeatedly and consistently.
- Must possess computer proficiency to accurately record data in spreadsheets or databases and run reports.
- Ability to count and organize documentation.
- Must possess ability to follow standard operating procedure and detail orientation.
- Must possess safety habits & awareness required as a condition of employment.

- Must have full range of motion to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop or kneel.
- Must be able to complete repetitive strenuous work under varying climate conditions.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 70 Lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a plant environment with varying levels of temperature and physical requirements.
