Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P Certified) - TAMPA, FL (FT Contractor)

Join ICON Aircraft as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P Certified) in Tampa, FL. This full-time contractor role involves ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of ICON's aircraft through timely maintenance, inspections, and repairs in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections for wear, damage, or non-compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on airframes, powerplants, and systems per manufacturer instructions.
  • Replace or repair components such as engines, landing gear, brakes, and avionics.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of all maintenance tasks.
  • Use and maintain tools and testing equipment properly, ensuring calibration and safety.
  • Complete work orders, logs, and discrepancy reports accurately.
  • Communicate findings and actions to relevant personnel.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Success Indicators:
  • Adherence to safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
  • Compliance with OEM specifications and quality standards.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Clear communication of aircraft status and issues.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in aircraft systems maintenance, assembly, or repair.
  • Experience with light sport aircraft or recreational industries preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency with hand tools and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions effectively.
Preferred and Ideal Experience:
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • LAS-RM license.
  • Experience with Rotax 912 engines and composite repairs.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to maintenance documentation.

  • Ability to perform physical work including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
