Job description

We are currently hiring a Quality Control Technician, Packaging in Breinigsville, PA.

The Quality Technician will ensure the integrity of each batch of product and consistent quality of production by enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems, conducting analysis, validating processes, and providing documentation. This role is essential in monitoring quality programs through regular process checks and participating in short and long-term projects. The technician will assist in decision-making related to production and product release. This position reports directly to the Assistant Quality Assurance Manager, Packaging.

What You'll Brew:
  1. Collect and analyze product at various stages of production and for finished goods to ensure quality standards are met, including but not limited to performing Secure Seal Tests (SST), verifying coding, packaging, labeling, and ensuring correct case, bottle, and notch codes.
  2. Perform daily sampling for the taste panel and troubleshoot packaging material defects.
  3. Verify keg beer quality through designated QA checks and perform calibration checks of lab equipment.
  4. Record all tank and product changes to ensure proper production and perform specific quality checks such as TPO/Fill/CO2 and operate beer analyzer equipment.
  5. Observe safety procedures, including PPE usage, and promote a safety-first environment.
  6. Determine product compliance using equipment and SOP validation, and manage the 'hold' process for non-conforming products.
  7. Participate in sensory analysis, including triangle testing and sampling new products.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Ensure all GMPs and HACCP plans are followed, and shut down processes that do not meet standards.
  10. Work collaboratively with maintenance and other departments to resolve issues and support shift schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  11. Manage product retain samples, ensuring compliance with regulatory and brewery standards.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Pass pre-employment physical and fit tests for respirator use if required.
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand and walk for long periods, and work at heights or on elevated platforms.
  3. Wear PPE and operate equipment with dexterity.
What Ingredients You'll Bring:
  • Proficiency with computers, automated equipment, and software such as Microsoft Office, Access, and QI Analyst.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of GMP, laboratory, and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving and project management skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a production or industrial setting and knowledge of SPC.

The pay rate for this role is $22.40 - $30.12 per hour.
