Join Our Team as a Quality Control Technician - Level 3 at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician - Level 3 to join our innovative team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America. This role offers the opportunity to work at a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery factory in DeSoto, Kansas, contributing to sustainable energy solutions and the electric vehicle revolution.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-level data interpretation and analytics related to Key Performance Indicators, supporting containment actions and treatment of nonconforming materials.
  • Operate independently, analyze data, and make decisions on the production floor and laboratories, sometimes without written SOPs.
  • Report quality issues, concerns, or deviations promptly to Supervisors and Engineers.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, quality issues, and deviations.
  • Assist with product audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications through proper process and procedure implementation.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within the functional area.
  • Train others within the same or lower levels within the functional area.
  • Maintain area cleanliness and meet 6S standards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

Wearing PPE such as Tyvek suits, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face masks, and full hazmat suits with respirators is required to ensure workplace safety. Pre-employment respirator fit testing will be conducted based on the functional area.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree.
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in documenting test results and inspection findings accurately.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory standards (UL, CE, RoHS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in quality roles with expertise in corrective and containment actions.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar continuous improvement certification.
Physical Demands

Employees will be required to sit (10%), walk (40%), stand (40%), and lift (10%) during the workday, with occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.
