Responsibilities

Located in DeSoto, Kansas, this green-field factory is part of our commitment to a sustainable future and the electric vehicle revolution. Job Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated Quality Technician – Level 4 with experience in quality inspection processes to join Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA). Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the execution of quality objectives, improve product quality, and support the success of our lithium-ion battery initiative. You will work with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and ensure products meet specifications.

Essential Duties

• Lead containment actions and treatment of nonconforming materials using Python scripts, Foundry, or other data visualization tools.
• Engage in quality improvement projects to enhance product quality, process efficiency, or reduce defects.
• Support and direct QA Inspectors and Operators in quality initiatives.
• Establish process alarms using Python scripts and Foundry.
• Train inspectors to improve proficiency and ensure proper implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
• Conduct product and process audits independently, communicate across organizational levels to resolve quality issues.
• Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and area cleanliness adhering to 6S standards.
• Train team members within the functional area as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

• Use PPE such as Tyvek suits, safety shoes, gloves, glasses, face masks, and hazmat suits with respirators as required. Respirator fit testing will be conducted pre-employment based on the area.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of relevant experience.

Essential Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4.5 years related work experience.
• Basic knowledge of programming scripts, data visualization tools, and Foundry AI platforms.
• Understanding of engineering principles and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as a QA Technician – Level 3 or similar.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement experience.

Physical Demands

Activities include sitting (10%), walking (40%), standing (40%), and lifting (10%).

Lift requirements: Up to 10 lbs. (frequent), up to 20 lbs. (frequent), up to 35 lbs. (occasional), over 35 lbs. (occasional team lift).
