Job summary

RiverBend Materials, a CRH Company, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Salem testing team. You will collect samples from asphalt, concrete, and aggregate plants, operate gauges, and perform field tests to ensure product quality.

Training is provided; you will obtain QC certifications, travel to nearby sites, and work Monday through Friday with overtime as needed. A strong work ethic and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain all applicable Quality Control Technician certifications during initial training.
• Obtain a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel to various site locations in and near the city of Salem.
• Have a high standard of ethics and integrity.
• Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
• Willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
• Must pass physical exam and pre-Employment controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently collect samples from asphalt, concrete or aggregate plants, and various job sites.
• Set-up, operate, and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction.
• Perform field tests for density or other properties.
• Promptly report non-compliant tests to project superintendent when applicable.
• Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures.
• Record data and enter information into computer systems.
• Communicate with plant staff.
• Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
