Job summary

RiverBend Materials, a CRH Company, is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Salem, Oregon. You will test aggregates, concrete, and asphalt to ensure only top-quality materials are used; you will operate density gauges and record results.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 7am–3pm schedule, with travel to site locations in the Salem area as needed. Training is provided to obtain QC certifications, supporting career growth within the CRH family.

Qualifications

• Obtain all applicable Quality Control Technician certifications during initial training.
• Obtain a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel to various site locations in and near Salem.
• Have a high standard of ethics and integrity.
• Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
• Demonstrate willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently collect samples from asphalt, concrete or aggregate plants, and various job sites.
• Set-up, operate, and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction.
• Perform field tests for density or other properties.
• Promptly report non-compliant tests to project superintendent when applicable.
• Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures.
• Record data and enter information into computer systems.
• Communicate with plant staff.
• Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
