Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Quality Technician for 2nd shift in Fort Payne, AL. You will inspect materials, perform calibrations, run laboratory tests, and review quality records to ensure conformance to Siemens Energy standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a quality mindset.
  • Manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and gauging equipment.
  • Strong communication and digital literacy; familiarity with SAP and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently, cross-train across quality functions, and adjust shifts as needed.

As a Quality Technician working 2nd shift, (Mon-Thu 3:00PM – 1:30AM), you will play a key role in ensuring products, materials, processes, and quality records meet Siemens Energy requirements. Depending on business needs and your assigned area, you may perform incoming material inspections, calibration activities, laboratory testing, shop floor audits, or quality documentation reviews. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilize inspection equipment, testing methods, and electronic quality systems to identify issues and support timely resolution of nonconformances. Through attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help ensure that high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong quality mindset and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred, including familiarity with calibration techniques, material testing laboratories, or related quality processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications and apply them effectively during inspections and testing activities or the ability to learn.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, such as ID/OD micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, thickness gauges, verniers preferred and willingness to learn specialized laboratory and gauging equipment.
  • Strong communication and digital literacy skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn systems such as SAP and other quality management platforms.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, support cross-training across quality functions, work overtime as needed, and temporarily adjust shifts to meet training or production requirements.
