Job summary

TACO Metals is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Sparta team and ensure product quality across operations. You will support inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams on quality initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 2 years in manufacturing QC, strong blueprint reading, data collection skills, and proficiency with MS Office. This role requires on-site work on the production floor in Sparta.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing inspection data.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and manufacturing/inspection-related math.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, testing, measurements, and evaluations of manufactured products to engineering and customer specifications.
  • Identify and document nonconforming products; place items on hold and escalate concerns for review and disposition.
  • Collect data and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation within company systems.
  • Communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations to management.
  • Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities and results.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job Title: Quality Control Technician | Location: Sparta | Department: Quality Control | Reports To: Quality Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

TACO Metals is looking for a driven Quality Control Technician to join our Sparta team and play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality across our operations.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality standards are established, maintained, and consistently followed. You’ll be a technical resource within our Quality team—supporting inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections, testing, measurements, and evaluations of manufactured products to engineering and customer specifications
  • Identify and document nonconforming products; place items on hold and escalation concerns for review and disposition
  • Collect data and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation within company systems
  • Communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations to management
  • Support internal and external quality inquiries as directed
  • Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities and results
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

You’ll provide data-driven insights to support decision-making while working closely with Quality leadership and other departments.

Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods
  • Experience collecting and analyzing inspection data
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and manufacturing/inspection-related math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus)
  • Visual acuity for reading blueprints, analyzing data, and performing detailed inspections
