Overview

Location: Hannibal, MO

Compensation: Pay depending on experience

The prime objective of the Quality Control Person is to provide analytical services to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials, process intermediates, and finished products. This position supports sustainable operations, community standing, and adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and regulations.

The Quality Control Person reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and does not have direct reports.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory equipment including balances, spectrometers, autoclaves, etc., with training provided.
• Perform sampling, testing, and verification according to ASTM procedures.
• Maintain and document analytical data accurately.
• Report quality issues immediately.
• Conduct QC tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products.
• Obtain samples from plant operations as directed.
• Provide vacation relief and respond to callouts as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and training.
• Train other employees as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Pass pre-employment screening including physical, background, and drug tests.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and quality software.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Availability to work overtime, all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Proficiency in English, mathematics, statistics, and control charts.
• Good employability skills (attendance, performance, attitude).

Physical Demands

Must be able to handle physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, and working on irregular surfaces, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
