Job summary

The Dixon Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Pewaukee, WI, to perform in-process audits, inspect incoming materials, and calibrate gauges. You will help maintain QMS compliance, participate in CAPA investigations, and support fixture design for testing. This role suits a precise professional with metrology experience.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or technical cert, 5–8 years in manufacturing quality, and GD&T proficiency. SolidWorks/CAD tools experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification in manufacturing quality required.
• 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role preferred.
• CSWA/CSWP certification is desirable.
• Strong ability to read drawings and GD&T standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops in-process inspection plans and audits in production.
• Inspects incoming materials and manages calibration of gauges.
• Creates inspection reports and initiates MRB when non conforming.
• Supports engineering with fixtures and testing setups.
• Performs quality investigations and CAPA for defects and complaints.
• Maintains QA instruments and conducts audits to ensure QMS compliance.
• Uses DDS ERP to document inventory and PPAP needs.

The Dixon Group is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for in-process audits in production, inspecting and approving incoming materials, and managing calibration of gauges. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision and has a strong background in inspection, measurement, and metrology.

What You'll Do

• Develops incoming and in process inspection plans
• Creates inspection reports and initiates a material review board (MRB) if parts are not in compliance with drawing
• Supports engineering by designing and producing test and inspection fixtures
• Receives incoming product and ensures product compliance and integrity
• Is involved in investigations and corrective actions for defects and customer complaints
• Initiates cost reduction activities to minimize waste, scrap, and rework, which will directly reduce the business unit's cost of poor quality (COPQ)
• Continual improvement agent for the business
• Maintain and manage quality control instruments and testing equipment
• Ensure compliance with the QMS by providing training and conducting audits
• Use the DDS (ERP System) to receive and document inventory
• Inspect products using CMM, Vision System, Calipers, Micrometers and other equipment as needed
• Perform statistical analysis studies on parts for incoming and PPAP needs
• Help develop the QA team into a world class department
• Develop and maintain adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures
• Perform internal and external quality audits.

What We’re Looking For

• Associates Degree, technical certification or equivalent manufacturing quality experience may be considered
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• CAD software certificate such as; CSWA (SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Associate Certificate) or CSWP (SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Professional Certificate)
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications using GD&T standards
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude for fitting and assembling parts for functional testing
• Proficient in software tools including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, CAM, and PDM systems
• Ability to adapt to new platforms as needed
• Ability to use a CMM, Visions system and all other measurement tools
