Job summary

The Dixon Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform in-process audits in production, inspect incoming materials, and manage calibration of gauges at our Pewaukee, WI facility. You will develop inspection plans, generate reports, and support QA with fixtures design and testing equipment, ensuring adherence to QMS and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 5–8 years of manufacturing experience, GD&T expertise, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CAD certificates (CSWA/CSWP) and ability to read GD&T drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CMM, vision systems, and measurement tools.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, CAM, PDM, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs in-process audits in production and inspects incoming materials.
• Develops inspection plans and creates inspection reports; initiates MRB if parts fail.
• Supports engineering by designing and producing test and inspection fixtures.
• Manages calibration of gauges and maintains quality instruments.
• Conducts QA investigations and corrective actions for defects and customer complaints.
• Participates in continuous improvement and cost-reduction activities.
• Ensures adherence to QMS and conducts internal/external audits.

The Dixon Groupis looking for aQuality Technicianto join our team!In this role, you will be responsible for in-process audits in production, inspecting and approving incoming materials, and managing calibration of gauges. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision and has a strong background in inspection, measurement, and metrology.

What You'll Do:

• Develops incoming and in process inspection plans
• Creates inspection reports and initiates a material review board (MRB) if parts are not in compliance with drawing
• Supports engineering by designing and producing test and inspection fixtures
• Receives incoming product and ensures product compliance and integrity
• Is involved in investigations and corrective actions for defects and customer complaints
• Initiates cost reduction activities to minimize waste, scrap, and rework, which will directly reduce the business unit's cost of poor quality (COPQ)
• Continual improvement agent for the business
• Maintain and manage quality control instruments and testing equipment
• Ensure compliance with the QMS by providing training and conducting audits
• Use the DDS (ERP System) to receive and document inventory
• Inspect products using CMM, Vision System, Calipers, Micrometers and other equipment as needed
• Perform statistical analysis studies on parts for incoming and PPAP needs
• Help develop the QA team into a world class department
• Develop and maintain adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures
• Perform internal and external quality audits.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• CAD software certificate such as; CSWA (SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Associate Certificate) or CSWP (SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Professional Certificate)
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications using GD&T standards
• Hands‑on mechanical aptitude for fitting and assembling parts for functional testing
• Proficient in software tools including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, CAM, and PDM systems
• Ability to adapt to new platforms as needed
• Ability to use a CMM, Visions system and all other measurement tools
