Job summary

Express Employment Professionals of Rancho Cucamonga is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor / QC Lab Supervisor for a paint and coatings manufacturer in Fontana, CA. This hands-on leadership role manages day-to-day quality operations, oversees product inspection and testing, and leads QC Lab Technicians.

You will develop lab processes, maintain records, perform ASTM testing, investigate customer complaints and CARs, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a paint Quality Control Lab.
• Experience in paint, coatings, chemical manufacturing QC.
• Familiarity with ASTM testing methods and lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Quality Control Lab.
• Develop, implement, and monitor QC lab processes and procedures.
• Supervise QC and Lab Technicians and ensure proper testing procedures.
• Inspect and test manufactured paint/coating products for quality compliance.
• Read and understand batch ticket instructions for testing.
• Perform and oversee ASTM testing methods.
• Maintain accurate records of product testing and inspections.
• Investigate quality-related customer complaints and CARs.
• Perform root cause analysis when required.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records.
• Ensure the QC lab remains clean, organized and efficient.

Express Employment Professionals of Rancho Cucamongais seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor / QC Lab Supervisor for a paint and coatings manufacturing company in Fontana, CA.

This is a hands-on working supervisor position responsible for the day-to-day quality operations of manufactured paint products. The QC Supervisor will oversee product inspection and testing, lead QC Lab Technicians, maintain quality documentation, and ensure finished products meet established quality standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Quality Control Lab.
• Develop, implement, and monitor QC lab processes and procedures.
• Supervise QC and Lab Technicians and ensure proper testing procedures are followed.
• Inspect and test manufactured paint and coating products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Read and understand batch ticket instructions regarding substrates and testing requirements.
• Perform and oversee ASTM testing methods.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of product testing and inspections.
• Investigate quality-related customer complaints and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Perform root cause analysis when required.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records.
• Ensure the QC lab remains clean, organized, and operates efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and/or 5+ years of experience in a paint Quality Control Lab.
• Previous experience in paint, coatings, chemical, or related manufacturing quality control.
• Knowledge of paint testing procedures and laboratory equipment.
• Familiarity with ASTM testing methods.
• Experience with paint testing equipment including:
  • Zahn Cups
  • Gloss Meters
  • Tooke Gage
  • Density Cups
• Knowledge of BYK, Hunter, and Datacolor instruments/software.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality programs.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
